Gangwar Inside Patna’s Paras Hospital: Criminal Chandan Mishra Shot Dead

Bihar News : In a shocking incident early Thursday morning, five armed assailants stormed into Paras Hospital, located in Patna’s Shastri Nagar area, and opened fire on notorious criminal Chandan Mishra. Mishra, a convict serving a life sentence in the Rajendra Kesari murder case, was out on parole for medical treatment and had been admitted to the hospital for the past 15 days.

Eyewitnesses reported panic in the hospital as the gunmen reached the second floor and shot Mishra multiple times before fleeing. The gunfire caused chaos among patients, staff, and bystanders. Local police from Shastri Nagar station arrived promptly, followed by Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma, who launched an investigation.

According to SSP Sharma, Mishra, a resident of Buxar district, had multiple murder charges against him. He had recently been transferred from Buxar to Bhagalpur Jail and was granted parole due to health issues. Preliminary investigations suggest the attack was orchestrated by a rival gang. Authorities have identified the shooter using CCTV footage, and efforts are underway to trace the gang with support from Buxar Police.

The incident has sparked political outrage. Purnia MP Pappu Yadav strongly condemned the state government, claiming Bihar is under “maha gundaraj” (extreme lawlessness). Visiting Paras Hospital and meeting the victim’s family, Yadav demanded the dismissal of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s government and the imposition of President’s Rule in the state.

He also lashed out at the police on social media, sarcastically saying, “Even the ADG says it’s the season of crime. In Bihar, May, June, and July are murder months. The government should drown in shame.”

This broad daylight killing inside a private hospital near the police headquarters has raised serious questions about Bihar’s law and order situation. The investigation is ongoing, and police are conducting raids to arrest the attackers.

This incident has once again brought attention to the deteriorating crime situation in Bihar, sparking fear among citizens and intensifying the debate over governance and public safety in the state.
