Offbeat : GNIOT Institute of Management Studies (GIMS), located in Knowledge Park 2, successfully organized a five-day outbound training program for its newly admitted PGDM batch. The training was conducted from July 10 to July 14, 2025, at the scenic Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand.
The primary objective of this program was to develop leadership, teamwork, decision-making, problem-solving, and collaboration skills among students through real-life and practical experiences beyond classroom learning.
During the training, students actively participated in a variety of management games and team-building activities. These were specially designed to enhance critical managerial abilities such as strategic thinking, coordination, emotional intelligence, and leadership.
Each day featured unique and interactive activities like Trust Fall, Mind Challenge Games, Collaboration Tasks, Leadership Role-Plays, and games focused on emotional intelligence. All sessions were conducted under the guidance of trained field experts and faculty members, ensuring both safety and learning.
One of the key highlights of the program was the Jungle Safari, where students had the opportunity to closely observe wildlife and biodiversity. This experience aimed to instill a sense of patience, environmental sensitivity, and appreciation for nature among the students.
Swadesh Kumar Singh, CEO of GIMS, emphasized the importance of such programs, stating, “Outbound training enables students to step beyond textbooks and learn real-world management skills. It not only prepares them for corporate challenges but also contributes significantly to their personal development.”
A total of 450 newly admitted PGDM students and 60 faculty and staff members from GIMS enthusiastically participated in the training. The success of this program further validated the institute’s commitment to practical and experiential learning as a core part of its academic approach.
GIMS reaffirmed its dedication to organizing such meaningful training sessions in the future, ensuring that students become not only academically sound but also professionally and practically competent to face the challenges of the modern business world.
