India News : The GNIOT Institute of Management Studies (GIMS) hosted a grand and inspiring orientation event titled Meraki, aimed at welcoming new PGDM students and igniting leadership, innovation, and vision among youth. The event was held at the prestigious India Expo Mart Centre in Greater Noida.

The ceremony was inaugurated with traditional rituals like lamp lighting and Saraswati puja by IPS officer Nidhin Valsan, GNIOT Chairman Dr. Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Vice Chairman Gaurav Gupta, and other senior dignitaries of the institution.

Meraki 2025 saw participation from prominent youth icons and thought leaders from across the country. Renowned motivational speaker Sonu Sharma emphasized the value of skill-based learning and entrepreneurial mindset, encouraging students to pursue practical knowledge over rote education. He said, “Today’s youth must learn to lead, not just seek jobs.”

Social activist and influencer Shubhankar Mishra stressed the power of social media for societal change. “One idea can impact millions if the intent is right,” he stated, adding that youth are the real catalysts for change.

The event also featured dynamic entrepreneurs:

  • Gaurav Taneja, co-founder of Rozier and Beast Life, highlighted the importance of fitness and digital branding.

  • Aakash Anand, founder of BellaVita, shared how local ideas can go global, emphasizing self-reliance and innovation.

  • Aakash Gupta from Zip Electric spoke on sustainable mobility and green technology.

  • Anubhav Dubey, co-founder of Chai Sutta Bar, inspired with his story of transforming a simple idea into a national franchise.

  • Dr. Amiett Kumar of Readers Books Club underlined the importance of habitual reading for mental growth and decision-making.

The highlight was the inspiring message from IPS officer Nidhin Valsan, a cancer warrior, who stated, “If a young person is clear and committed to their purpose, they can create extraordinary change.” He motivated students to develop a strong sense of discipline, duty, and national responsibility.

GIMS Director Dr. Bhupendra Som announced that Meraki marks the beginning of a week-long orientation, where top corporate leaders will interact with students. CEO Swadesh Kumar Singh reiterated GIMS’s commitment to preparing students for both corporate and social challenges.

The event was flawlessly hosted by Dr. Shalini Sharma and Ranu Saxena and concluded with a vote of thanks by Executive Director Dr. Ruchi Rayat, appreciating the contributions of speakers, faculty, staff, and students.
