Goa Fire Case: Luthra Brothers to be Extradited from Thailand in 24 Hours

India News : The Luthra brothers, Saurabh and Gaurav, owners of Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Goa, are expected to be brought back to India within 24 to 48 hours. The two fled to Thailand immediately after a devastating fire at their nightclub on 6 December, which claimed at least 25 lives, including several employees.

According to government sources, the extradition process has already begun. Authorities aim to bring the brothers to India by Sunday. Meanwhile, a magistrate-led investigation committee conducted extensive questioning late Saturday night of Pradeep Ghadi Amonkar, the landowner, and Roshan Redkar, the sarpanch of Arpora-Nagora, both of whom had earlier obtained anticipatory bail.

Amonkar’s lawyer, Prasenjit Dhage, confirmed that his client was interrogated for several hours, from 3:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Redkar also responded to the committee’s questions. Meanwhile, the Goa police have arrested five managers and staff members of the nightclub.

The Ministry of External Affairs had cancelled the passports of the Luthra brothers, and Interpol issued a Blue Corner notice against them. Police also conducted a raid at their Delhi residence. A Delhi court recently rejected their bail plea, in which they had claimed fear of being lynched in Goa.

With the extradition imminent, the Luthra brothers are expected to face further investigation and legal proceedings in India concerning the nightclub fire tragedy.
