Jharkhand Weather News: The impact of Cyclone Arnab is being felt across Jharkhand on October 29. Since the night of October 28, continuous rain has been falling in 14 districts of the state, including the capital, Ranchi. This persistent rainfall has disrupted daily life, and schools and colleges remain closed. In light of the situation, the Meteorological Department has issued an ‘orange’ alert for six districts and a ‘yellow’ alert for eight districts in the state.
The Meteorological Centre in Ranchi has issued an orange alert today for Garhwa, Palamu, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla, and Simdega. These districts are experiencing continuous rainfall, which could lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas. A yellow alert has been issued for Chatra, Koderma, Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Ranchi, Khunti, Seraikela-Kharsawan, and East Singhbhum; heavy rainfall is expected in some parts of these districts today. There is also a risk of thunderstorms and lightning. Residents have been advised to remain cautious.
It is worth noting that Cyclone Arnab made landfall along the coast of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, and its influence has led to a change in weather conditions in Jharkhand as well. The Meteorological Department has advised people to avoid standing in open spaces or under trees during this inclement weather. Given the risk of lightning, those working in fields or open areas are urged to exercise extra caution.
