Ranchi: Jharkhand has been witnessing rain since September 22, and there is no immediate relief in sight. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain, lightning and strong winds in several parts of the state on September 26, with heavy rain likely at isolated places in northwestern Jharkhand.
According to the weather department, most parts of the state are likely to remain cloudy on September 26. Light to moderate rain may occur at several places, while Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra and Latehar may receive heavy rain at isolated locations.
Strong Winds and Lightning Alert
During rainfall, strong winds with speeds of 30 to 40 kmph may occur in some areas. Thunderstorms and lightning are also likely at several places.
The weather department has advised people to avoid open areas during adverse weather conditions and take necessary precautions during thunderstorms and lightning.

In the capital Ranchi, the sky is expected to remain cloudy throughout the day on September 26. Light to moderate rain may occur more than once during the day.
Ranchi is likely to record a maximum temperature of around 26°C and a minimum temperature of around 22°C.
Rain May Continue Till October 1
According to the IMD, some parts of Jharkhand may also receive rain on September 27. Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds are possible at isolated places during this period.
From September 28 to October 1, light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur at some places across the state.
The weather department has not issued any specific severe weather warning for the period. According to the IMD, there is unlikely to be any significant change in temperature during the next two days.
After that, the maximum temperature may rise by 3 to 4°C over the following three days.
