Bihar News : Under the Social Security Pension Scheme, pension payments for July 2026 have been directly transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the bank accounts of 2,77,671 beneficiaries in Katihar district. A district-level programme was organised in connection with the transfer of the ₹1,100 monthly pension amount by Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.
The live broadcast of the Chief Minister’s pension transfer programme was shown at the district headquarters. The Katihar District Magistrate, senior district administration officials and a large number of beneficiaries participated in the programme. A total of ₹32,06,71,000, or more than ₹32.06 crore, was transferred directly to beneficiaries’ accounts.
Old-Age Pension Scheme Gets Largest Share
According to the scheme-wise figures, the Mukhyamantri Vridhjan Pension Yojana accounted for the largest number of beneficiaries. A total of 1,46,460 beneficiaries received ₹17,25,00,000 under the scheme.
Under the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, ₹6,02,22,800 was transferred to the accounts of 54,194 beneficiaries.
Disability and Widow Pension Payments Also Released
Under the Bihar Disability Pension Scheme, 30,828 beneficiaries received ₹3,47,43,500 through DBT.
Under the Laxmibai Social Security Pension Scheme, ₹2,83,62,600 was transferred to 25,106 beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, 19,673 beneficiaries under the Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme received ₹2,32,86,700.
Under the Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme, 1,410 beneficiaries received ₹15,55,400.
Pension Amount Transferred Directly Through DBT
The July 2026 pension payments were transferred directly into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries through the DBT system.
The district administration said the process ensured that eligible pensioners received the benefits of the welfare schemes on time.
