Chandwara (Koderma), September 25: Koderma Police have achieved a major breakthrough under their special ‘Operation Vishwas’, recovering 177 stolen and missing smartphones worth approximately ₹53 lakh and returning them to their legitimate owners.
A programme was organised at the Police Lines on Friday, where the recovered mobile phones were handed over to their respective owners.
Mobile Phones Recovered Using Technology
According to a press release issued by the Koderma Superintendent of Police’s office on September 25, the recovery was carried out on the directions of the Superintendent of Police.
The Technical Branch, Koderma, used modern technology, mobile tracking and data analysis to trace and recover the 177 smartphones.
The estimated value of the recovered phones is around ₹53 lakh.
121 Phones Traced Outside Koderma
Of the 177 recovered mobile phones, 121 had been reported missing or stolen in different states and Union Territories, while 56 phones belonged to cases reported from Koderma district.
The recovery highlights the role of technical surveillance and mobile tracking in tracing lost and stolen devices across state boundaries.

- Karnataka: 8
- Kerala: 5
- Uttar Pradesh: 3
- Madhya Pradesh: 3
- Haryana: 2
- Tamil Nadu: 2
- Chhattisgarh: 2
- Rajasthan: 1
- Andhra Pradesh: 1
- Goa: 1
- Dadra and Nagar Haveli: 1
The recovered smartphones were subsequently returned to their rightful owners during the programme.
