PM Modi Completes 25 Years, Gives 'We Will Do It' Call for Viksit Bharat

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed 25 continuous years as the head of a government on Wednesday, marking the milestone with a renewed call to achieve the goals of a Viksit Bharat by 2047 and an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Addressing the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha, he repeatedly raised the slogan “Hum karke rahenge… We Will Do It”, with the gathering joining him in the chant.

Modi’s journey as head of a government began on October 7, 2001, when he took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He later served as Gujarat Chief Minister before becoming Prime Minister in 2014. The Union Cabinet also passed a resolution on October 6 congratulating him on completing 25 years of continuous leadership as head of government.

Modi Recalls 25-Year Journey

Recalling the beginning of his political journey, Modi said he had never imagined in 2001 that he would one day reach the milestone of completing 25 years as the head of a government.

He attributed the journey to the continued blessings and trust of the people and expressed his gratitude to citizens for giving him opportunities to serve.

Reflecting on his experiences over the past 25 years, the Prime Minister said that no incident in his life had gone to waste. He said those who supported and helped him taught him humility, while those who caused setbacks taught him how to stand up again.

He also said that well-wishers encouraged him, while critics gave him an opportunity to look within and reflect.

“Every Crisis Tested My Patience”

According to Modi, every crisis during his journey tested his patience, while every success increased his sense of responsibility.

He said each achievement also gave him greater courage and determination to work towards bigger national goals.

The Prime Minister recalled that the past 25 years had seen several Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, during which people repeatedly gave him the opportunity to serve.

He thanked the Bharatiya Janata Party, the NDA, his ministers and political colleagues who have faith in democracy. He also paid tribute to India’s democracy and Constitution.

Thanks Supporters of Seva Jyoti Yatra

Modi also greeted all those who participated in the Seva Jyoti Yatra, saying that his long journey of public service had been possible because of the trust and blessings of the people. Programmes linked to the Seva Sankalp campaign were organised across the country to mark the 25-year milestone.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister visited Shri Vinayak Temple in Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi, where he offered prayers for the prosperity, well-being and good health of the people of the country. He also prayed for the strength and ability to continue working with greater energy and serving the nation.

Focus Now on Viksit Bharat and Aatmanirbhar Bharat

Modi said that completing 25 years is a moment of satisfaction and gratitude, but his attention is now firmly focused on the country’s future goals.

He reiterated the resolve to make India a developed nation by 2047 and achieve the goal of self-reliance.

With the call “Hum karke rahenge… We Will Do It,” the Prime Minister conveyed confidence that the country’s major goals can be achieved through collective effort and public participation.
