India News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to inaugurate the Centenary Celebrations of Acharya Shri 108 Vidyanand Ji Maharaj today on Saturday at Vigyan Bhawan, marking a year-long tribute organized by the Ministry of Culture and Bhagwan Mahaveer Ahimsa Bharti Trust. The observance, running from 28 June 2025 to 22 April 2026, will celebrate Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj’s legacy through cultural, literary, educational, and spiritual initiatives in India.
Born on 22 April 1925, he was a scholar known for memorizing 8,000 Jain verses and authoring over 50 texts on Jain philosophy. He designed the Jain Flag and Emblem for the 2500th Nirvana Mahotsav, restored ancient temples, and advocated for education in classical languages and Jain philosophy, promoting inter-sect harmony and spiritual egalitarianism.
The event will feature Jain Acharyas, spiritual leaders, MPs, and dignitaries. Highlights include the exhibition “Life and Legacy of Acharya Shri 108 Vidyanand Ji Maharaj,” a documentary, the launch of a commemorative stamp and coin, a biographical book, and a keynote address by the Prime Minister, focusing on community, youth engagement, interfaith dialogue, and Jain heritage.
