Jharkhand News : In a move to ensure student safety and a secure educational environment, the Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has intensified inspections and action against coaching institutes operating in the city. A team from the corporation’s Town Planning Branch inspected coaching and training institutes running from Hariom Tower and Lee Desire Complex in Lalpur on Thursday.
Notices were pasted at six institutions after violations of rules and the absence of required documents were found.
During the inspection, a dispute broke out when officials sought approved building plans, fire NOC, trade licence and other documents from the operator of Skytech Aviation at Lee Desire Complex. The Skytech Aviation management accused the corporation of taking unilateral action and refused to provide any documents.
The municipal corporation accused the institution of obstructing official work. After the required cooperation was not provided, a notice was pasted at the premises.
The institutions against which action was taken included Samarth Academy, FIITJEE, Skytech Aviation, Mentors EduServ and Bhanwar Rathore Design Studio, among others. The corporation directed the concerned institutions to rectify the deficiencies mentioned in the notices and submit all required statutory documents to the municipal office within three days.
Mandatory Safety and Legal Documents
According to the municipal corporation, coaching institutes operating in commercial buildings must have an approved building plan, fire exits, a valid fire NOC, trade licence and compliance with other required safety standards.
These provisions are aimed at ensuring the safety of students and other people in case of any emergency.
Warning of Sealing Action
The RMC has warned that if the deficiencies are not rectified or the required documents are not submitted within the stipulated three-day period, the concerned institutions may be sealed.
