Ranchi : Efforts aimed at promoting education, youth empowerment and opportunities for meritorious students in Jharkhand were recognised at the “Samwad” programme organised by Kanke Talks at Celebration Banquet Hall in Ranchi.
On the occasion, Dr Amit Kumar Pandey, Pro Vice Chancellor of RKDF University, Ranchi, was honoured with the prestigious KankeTalks Samwad Samman 2026.
The award was presented to Dr Pandey for his efforts to empower the youth of Jharkhand through higher education, create opportunities for meritorious students and promote positive initiatives in the fields of education and skill development.

Arjun Munda, former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and former Union Minister, personally presented the award to Dr Amit Kumar Pandey on the stage.
The programme was also attended by Harivansh Narayan Singh, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha; former Rajya Sabha MP Mahesh Poddar; Padma Shri awardee senior journalist and writer Balbir Dutt; and Padma Shri awardee Nagpuri folk artist and singer Mukund Nayak, among several other distinguished guests.

After receiving the honour, Dr Amit Kumar Pandey said that identifying, recognising and providing opportunities to meritorious and talented students is not only a responsibility but also a social responsibility.
He said:
“Recognising, honouring and providing opportunities to the meritorious and talented students of the state to move ahead is not only our responsibility but also our social responsibility. Our priority is to ensure that talent gets the right direction and an appropriate platform. RKDF University, Ranchi is fully committed to working in the interests of students and their bright future by providing quality higher education, skill development, proper guidance and better opportunities.”
Dr Pandey said the purpose of education is not limited to obtaining a degree. According to him, education should empower young people with knowledge, skills, confidence and leadership abilities.
He added that the university is paying special attention to the academic and personality development of students with this objective.

Dr Pandey said RKDF University, Ranchi is committed to the overall development of students, along with their academic growth.

“Samwad” Focuses on Education and Youth Empowerment
The Kanke Talks “Samwad” programme was organised with a focus on education, social concerns, youth empowerment and providing opportunities to talented people from Jharkhand.
The presence of prominent personalities from different fields added significance to the event. Discussions were held on important issues including social transformation through education, creating better opportunities for young people and promoting talent from Jharkhand.
