- CM Samrat Choudhary outlined Bihar’s development roadmap at Gandhi Maidan on Independence Day, highlighting investment, jobs, women’s safety, agriculture, health and infrastructure.
Bihar News : At the official Independence Day समारोह at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary unfurled the national flag for the first time and took the salute of the parade. In his address, he outlined the government’s priorities and upcoming plans covering development, employment, investment, women’s safety, agriculture, healthcare, education and infrastructure.
The Chief Minister said Bihar is moving forward with a spirit of service, commitment and dedication. He said the government’s objective is to ensure equal opportunities and a life of dignity for every citizen.
30-Day Deadline for Grievance Resolution
Speaking about the Sahayog Camp initiative, the Chief Minister said a strict 30-day deadline has been set for resolving citizens’ problems. So far, 6,46,181 applications have been received, of which around 95% have been disposed of.
For negligence, 17,773 officers and employees have received a first notice, 860 a second notice and 48 a third notice. He said people who are not satisfied with the resolution of their complaints will also have the option to raise the matter further.
Calling rural development a priority, the Chief Minister said development schemes are being reviewed and new plans taken up every month on the last Sunday as part of Panchayat Development Day.
Focus on Women’s Safety and Police Response
The Chief Minister said women’s safety remains the government’s top priority. Bihar currently has 32,450 women police personnel, while recruitment and training of more women police officers and personnel is continuing.
He announced the launch of the ‘Police Didi’ service from Raksha Bandhan. Women police personnel will be deployed around schools and colleges, with around 5,000 bikes and scooters being made available for the purpose.
Emergency services are also being strengthened through ERSS, which connects ambulance, fire services, police and other emergency services. According to the Chief Minister, Bihar Police is working towards reaching incident locations in around 10 minutes.
₹5 Lakh Crore Private Investment Target by November
Highlighting Bihar’s economic and industrial growth, the Chief Minister said the budget of undivided Bihar was only ₹6,000 crore 27 years ago, while the state’s budget has now increased to ₹3.47 lakh crore.
He said the government is working towards bringing ₹5 lakh crore in private investment to Bihar by November. The investment is expected to create new opportunities for industries and employment.
The Chief Minister said more than 100 industrial areas have been developed and land acquisition is underway for 14,600 acres. He also said the Bihar government will purchase 30% of goods from industries established in the state.
He further stated that MoUs worth ₹51,000 crore for five steel plants were signed in a single day.
Free Solar Panels for 4.25 Lakh BPL Families
The Chief Minister said the government will install free solar panels at the homes of 4.25 lakh BPL families. The initiative is expected to provide relief on electricity expenses for poor families while promoting clean energy.
He said around 60 lakh farmers have been digitally connected and are being provided with weather information for their respective areas through digital platforms, enabling them to make agriculture-related decisions based on weather conditions.
He also said 10 sugar mills are currently operational in Bihar and five more sugar mills will be established soon.
Target to Travel from Patna to Gaya in 30 Minutes
On transportation, the Chief Minister said the government plans to further improve the state’s transport infrastructure over the next five years. Work will be undertaken towards reducing the travel time between Patna and Gaya to around 30 minutes through rapid rail in the coming years.
He said Bihar plans to develop infrastructure worth around ₹1 lakh crore, with townships and industrial hubs as part of the proposed development, along the lines of Gurugram and Chandigarh.
The Chief Minister also announced that work on Patahi Airport in Muzaffarpur will begin this month. He said the government’s aim is to ensure that the benefits of development reach every section of Bihar.
