Bihar News : The 56th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) seized 98 kilograms of suspected ganja during a late-night operation near the India-Nepal border in Bihar’s Araria district. The alleged smuggler managed to escape, leaving the contraband behind.
According to officials, the operation was carried out by the Pathardeva Border Outpost (BOP) team at Gwarpuchhari village, located near Border Pillar No. 184, approximately 500 metres inside Indian territory.
The SSB had received specific intelligence that narcotics were being smuggled from Nepal into India. Acting on the tip-off, a special patrol team launched a raid. During the operation, the suspected smuggler fled the spot after abandoning the consignment.
After completing the required legal formalities, the seized narcotics were handed over to Bathnaha Police Station for further investigation and legal action.
The information was confirmed by Nitin Kumar Gupta, Second-in-Command of the 56th Battalion, SSB. Authorities are continuing efforts to identify and apprehend the absconding smuggler.
