Bihar News : Questions have been raised over the functioning of the Siwan Municipal Council after Ward No. 37 Councillor Prem Lata Devi, mother of BJP city president Amit Kumar Singh ‘Sonu’, was compelled to lodge a complaint on the Bihar Government’s Sahyog Portal regarding civic issues in her own ward.
In her complaint, the councillor stated that drain covers at several locations in Ward No. 37 are damaged, while many roads have remained unrepaired for a long time. As a result, residents are facing serious inconvenience in daily commuting.
She also pointed out that open drains pose a constant risk of accidents, and the situation becomes even more hazardous during the monsoon due to waterlogging and deteriorating road conditions.
Municipal Team Conducts Inspection
Following the complaint, a team of engineers from the Siwan Municipal Council visited Ward No. 37 on Wednesday to inspect the affected locations. The team examined the issues highlighted in the complaint and initiated the process of preparing a report for further action.
Residents Question Civic Administration
Local residents said that the fact a sitting ward councillor had to approach the government’s grievance portal to address problems in her own ward reflects the need for significant improvements in the functioning of the municipal council.
They are now awaiting prompt action and hope that the identified issues will be resolved without further delay.
Action Expected After Verification
According to officials, the complaint has been forwarded to the concerned department for verification and necessary action. If the allegations are found to be genuine, the civic works are expected to be taken up on a priority basis.
