India News : After rising continuously for the past four days, the water level of the Yamuna River stabilized at 113.13 meters on Monday — still above the danger mark, but offering relief to both villagers and the administration.
Floodwater has reached the Etawah–Auraiya link road near Sikrodi bridge, while Gauhani Kala road remains closed. Villagers are using boats to commute, and medical teams have been deployed in affected areas for health check-ups and medicine distribution.
Water released from Kota Barrage and Hathnikund had caused the Yamuna to swell rapidly, sparking panic in riverside villages. Several roads, fields, and huts have been submerged, forcing farmers and families to consider moving to higher ground.
Locals recall the devastation of the last flood and fear complete destruction if the water level rises again. However, with the river now stable, hopes are high that conditions will return to normal.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nikhil Rajput confirmed that the water level has started to recede. While there is currently no threat, the administration remains on alert, continuing relief operations in flood-hit villages.
