Jharkhand News : The Railway Protection Force (RPF) seized 126 bottles of foreign liquor during a search operation at Gajhandi Railway Station under its special drive, ‘Operation Satark’.
The operation was led by Railway Inspector Deepak Kumar, along with Head Constable Shravan Kumar and Constable Puran Chand Meena, who were patrolling the station. During the arrival of the Danapur Intercity Express (Train No. 13233) at Platform No. 1, the team conducted a routine inspection.
During the search, two unattended trolley bags were found near the bathroom area on the platform. Passengers nearby were questioned, but no one claimed ownership of the bags. Suspecting illegal activity, the RPF opened the bags in the presence of witnesses.
The first yellow trolley bag contained 66 bottles of Kingfisher Strong Premium Beer, while the second red trolley bag held 60 bottles of the same brand. Each bottle had a capacity of 500 ml and carried an MRP of ₹150.
Due to the train’s short halt at the station, officials could not conduct a complete search of all coaches, and the person responsible for the bags could not be identified.
At around 3:10 pm, Inspector Deepak Kumar formally seized the liquor after preparing a seizure list in the presence of witnesses. The total quantity of beer seized was 63,000 ml (63 litres), with an estimated market value of ₹18,900.
The seized liquor has been handed over to the Excise Department in Koderma for further legal action.
