India News: An environmental public hearing was organized on Thursday at the block office premises for the proposed 2400 MW Ultra Super Critical Thermal Power Plant by the Adani Group in Peirapanti block. During the event, representatives from various panchayats and villagers unanimously raised their hands in support of the project. Conducted under the aegis of the Bihar State Pollution Control Board, the hearing saw a large turnout of local villagers, social representatives, and panchayat members. Attendees voiced in one accord that the plant would spur all-round development in the area and create new employment opportunities for locals.Speakers emphasized that the project would transform Peirapanti into an employment hub, sparing youth the need to migrate to other states for work. They added that it would not only benefit Peirapanti but also accelerate Bihar’s industrial and economic growth.

Bhagalpur’s Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) Rakesh Ranjan and Bihar State Pollution Control Board’s Regional Officer Shambhunath Jha chaired the hearing. Adani Group’s Senior Environment Officer R.N. Shukla shared technical details about the plant and outlined comprehensive measures for environmental protection.Villagers urged priority on environmental safeguards, local employment, and development works, receiving positive assurances from project management.Key speakers included Block Development Officer Rashmi Kumari, Mukhiya Manikpur Arvind Sah, former MLA Ramvilas Paswan, social worker Munna Singh, Mukhiya Sangh State Vice-President Amrendra Kumar Jumppa, Sanjeevani Ganga NGO founder Md. Ayaz, landowner Sushil Singh, Harinkol Sarpanch Barun Goswami, Mukhiya Peirapanti Gulfasa Parveen, villagers Babli Kumari, Sapna Kumari, and other dignitaries.

To maintain law and order during the programme, SDM Kahalgaon K Gupta (IAS), Additional Superintendent of Police Pankaj Kumar, Circle Officer Chandrashekhar Kumar, Block Development Officer Abhimanyu Kumar, SHO Neeraj Kumar, and other administrative officials were present. Senior officials from Adani Power Sanjay Bhardwaj, Dinesh Tiwari, Arun Kumar, Prasad Limaye, A. Subramaniam, along with other officers also attended the event.
