3-Year-Old Killed in Mother’s Lap in Patna’s Barh, Accused Detained

Bihar News : A three-year-old boy died after he was allegedly attacked while sitting in his mother’s lap in Lalpura village under the Bhadour police station area of Barh in Patna district on Sunday morning. Police have taken the accused, identified as Shyam Sundar Mahato, into custody.

The deceased child has been identified as Chintu Kumar, the younger son of Rajesh Mahato. According to the information available, the child was seriously injured in the attack and died while being taken to hospital.

Child Allegedly Attacked While Sitting With His Mother

According to the information received, the incident took place at around 10 am on Sunday. Three-year-old Chintu Kumar was sitting in his mother’s lap when Shyam Sundar Mahato, a resident of the same village, allegedly attacked him.

The accused allegedly struck the child’s neck with a pointed iron hook used for lifting loads. The child suffered serious injuries and began bleeding heavily.

Child Dies While Being Taken to Hospital

Following the attack, family members immediately rushed the injured child to hospital for treatment. However, the injuries were severe, and Chintu died on the way.

The incident has left the child’s parents and other family members devastated. An atmosphere of grief and panic prevailed in Lalpura village following the child’s death.

Accused Detained, Police Probe Underway

After receiving information about the incident, Bhadour police reached the spot and took the accused, Shyam Sundar Mahato, into custody.

Police are questioning the accused to determine the reason behind the alleged killing and to find out whether there was any dispute or personal enmity involved.

The child’s body has been taken into custody, and further legal action in the case has been initiated.
