Horror: TV Time Turns Tragic as Roof Collapses, 3 Dead

India News : In a heart-wrenching incident that has left an entire village in mourning, three members of a family — a grandmother and two young girls — were killed late Wednesday night when a dilapidated mud house collapsed in Auraiya district’s Jaitapur village under Sadar Kotwali police limits.

The tragic accident occurred around 11 PM when the victims were reportedly getting ready to sleep. According to family members, 62-year-old Ramwati, 12-year-old Muskan, and 9-year-old Ishani were sitting together in a room watching television when the weakened roof suddenly caved in, burying them under the debris.

Hearing the loud crash, nearby villagers rushed to the spot and began removing the rubble with whatever tools they could find. After nearly an hour of effort, all three victims were pulled out from under the debris and rushed to the 50-bed District Hospital. Sadly, doctors declared all three dead upon arrival.

Upon receiving the information, local police officers and administrative officials reached the site. Sadar Kotwali Station In-Charge, Rajkumar Singh, confirmed the incident and said the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation is underway and that the victim’s family will receive all possible support.

The village is now gripped with grief, as the deceased family was already living in dire financial conditions. Villagers say the house was visibly dilapidated, and recent rains may have further weakened its structure. Many residents have now called on the district administration to provide financial assistance to the bereaved family and also take preventive measures to ensure such tragedies don’t happen again.

Local elders stressed that in rural areas, especially during monsoon season, attention must be paid to the condition of mud houses, which can become death traps if ignored. This incident has once again highlighted the risks posed by aging, unsafe structures in poverty-stricken areas.

As the investigation continues, the tragedy serves as a grim reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by families living in unsafe housing, especially in remote regions where immediate aid and infrastructure support are often lacking.
