Man Upset Over Not Getting Married Sends Fake Bomb Threat to Police

India News : Panic struck the Ghaziabad police when a man made a false bomb threat via Dial-112, claiming that the historic Red Fort in Delhi would be blown up. Upon investigation, the police found the threat to be fake and arrested the caller, who is reportedly a drug addict and frustrated over his family’s refusal to arrange his marriage.

DCP Rural S.N. Tiwari stated that on Monday, a man named Asif alias Ashu called Dial-112 and alleged that his family members — Shadab Akhtar, Muhammad Miyan, and Atar alias Bhola — were planning to bomb the Red Fort on August 15. The Tronica City police responded swiftly and began an inquiry.

The caller was traced to Rajdhani Enclave, Gali No. 4, Rampur, Tronica City, originally from Hajiyapur, Baradari Police Station, Bareilly. During the investigation, it was found that Asif, who is addicted to drugs, had deliberately misled emergency services by making a fake bomb threat involving his own father and brothers.

Asif was arrested from the Rampur outpost area, and a case has been registered against him under Sections 351(2)/353(1)(B) of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita).

During interrogation, Asif confessed that he was angry at his family for not arranging his marriage. In a fit of rage and under the influence of drugs, he made the fake call to get back at them. He also admitted that he had previously made similar hoax bomb threats targeting Jama Masjid and Red Fort, for which Delhi Police had earlier arrested and jailed him.
