White owl spotted during Saptarishi Aarti at Kashi Vishwanath Temple, seen perched on golden spire

India News : A rare sight at the sacred Kashi Vishwanath Temple has become the talk of social media — a white owl regularly appearing during the evening Saptarishi Aarti. Temple’s Chief Executive Officer and several devotees shared pictures of the owl sitting gracefully on the temple’s golden spire.

According to devotees, including advocate Ravindra Tiwari, the owl has been visiting the temple for the past few years. It arrives during the Saptarishi Aarti, sits atop the golden spire, and leaves once the rituals conclude. Many claim it appears almost daily at the same time.

In Sanatan tradition, the owl is regarded as the vehicle of Goddess Lakshmi, symbolizing prosperity. The presence of a white owl in particular is considered highly auspicious. Temple officials noted that sighting the owl after the Shayan Aarti is being viewed as a divine sign of blessings.

The Saptarishi Aarti at Kashi Vishwanath Temple is performed daily between 7:00 pm and 8:15 pm, when seven Acharyas from different gotras offer prayers to Lord Mahadev simultaneously.
