India News : Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm wishes to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on his 75th birthday, describing him as a “visionary and hardworking leader under whose guidance the RSS has been expanding steadily.”
PM Modi noted that September 11 is a date tied to many memories — Swami Vivekananda’s historic 1893 Chicago address on universal brotherhood, as well as the tragic 9/11 terror attack. He added that Bhagwat’s birthday on this day carries a special meaning, especially as the RSS marks its centenary year.
In a detailed article, PM Modi highlighted his personal bond with the Bhagwat family. He recalled working closely with Mohan Bhagwat’s father, Madhukarrao Bhagwat, a lifelong nationalist and RSS worker, about whom Modi also wrote in his book Jyotipunj.
Tracing Mohan Bhagwat’s journey, the Prime Minister said that his life has been a constant source of inspiration. Joining as a pracharak in the 1970s, Bhagwat upheld the RSS tradition where thousands have dedicated their lives to nation-building. Modi also mentioned Bhagwat’s impactful years as Akhil Bharatiya Sharirik Pramukh in the 1990s, especially his work in Bihar’s villages, strengthening society at the grassroots level.
