On the occasion, the Chief Minister also virtually laid the foundation stones for 12 new police stations to be established in different districts of the state. By pressing a remote button, he inaugurated the projects and flagged off the newly allotted police vehicles. He also distributed appointment letters to selected candidates from various categories during the event.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that maintaining peace, law and order, and controlling crime—from cities to rural areas—is the key responsibility of the police force. He noted that the addition of modern vehicles will significantly enhance the mobility, response capability, and surveillance capacity of the police. This improvement will help authorities respond quickly to incidents and strengthen overall security across the state.

Hemant Soren stated that the state government is continuously working toward crime control, citizen safety, and modernization of the police force. He expressed confidence that with the introduction of these vehicles and the establishment of new police stations, the efficiency of the police force and response time will improve significantly, ensuring quick and reliable security services for citizens.

He also mentioned that since the formation of the state, this is the first time such a large number of modern vehicles have been provided to the police at once, calling it a milestone in Jharkhand’s 25-year journey of police modernization.

Referring to a recent incident, the Chief Minister highlighted the prompt action of Jharkhand Police in rescuing two kidnapped minors in the Dhurwa police station area and busting an interstate child trafficking gang. He said such efforts demonstrate the police department’s commitment to using technology and innovation to prevent crime.

The Chief Minister urged citizens to cooperate with the police in maintaining law and order. He emphasized that public awareness, timely information sharing, and mutual trust between citizens and police are essential for a safe society.

During the event, the Chief Minister congratulated newly selected candidates who received appointment letters and encouraged them to serve the state with honesty, dedication, and sensitivity, especially in protecting weaker and marginalized sections of society.

Vehicles Distributed in First Phase

In the first phase, the state government handed over 636 patrolling vehicles and 849 two-wheelers to various districts and police stations.

The Jharkhand government has approved a total of 1,255 patrolling vehicles and 1,697 two-wheelers for the police force. These vehicles will play an important role in patrolling, quick response operations, rural surveillance, monitoring sensitive areas, and rapid action against criminal activities.

The event was attended by Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato, ministers Radhakrishna Kishore, Sanjay Prasad Yadav, Irfan Ansari, Deepika Pandey Singh, Shilpi Neha Tirkey, MLA Kalpana Soren, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Home Department Principal Secretary Vandana Dadel, and DGP Tadasha Mishra along with senior police and administrative officials.
