Bengal’s Image Tarnished Due to Recruitment Scam, New Law for Transparent Hiring Soon: Suvendu Adhikari

India News : BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari strongly criticized the West Bengal government over the much-discussed recruitment scam in the state. Speaking at a government-organized job fair in Sealdah on Saturday, he said that corruption in recruitment has badly damaged West Bengal’s reputation across the country. He stated that people once had high expectations from the state, but the system has deteriorated over the past few years. According to him, Bengal now needs to recover from this negative image.

Adhikari announced that a new law regarding recruitment procedures will be introduced in the next Assembly session to ensure transparency in government hiring. He said the initiative aims to fulfill the aspirations of the younger generation and restore faith in the recruitment system.

He also raised concerns over the condition of examination centers in the state. Adhikari claimed that the credibility of several exam centers has been compromised, which is one of the reasons why Railway examinations were reportedly not being conducted in West Bengal.

From the stage of the employment fair, he also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that the central government is providing job opportunities to deserving youth through a transparent process. He added that the Prime Minister’s sense of responsibility and governance is being appreciated nationwide.

Expressing displeasure over the OMR sheet controversy, Adhikari said that forcing candidates to submit carbon copies of OMR sheets is an unfair practice. He demanded that every examinee should receive their own carbon copy to maintain transparency in examinations. He further suggested reducing the weightage of viva marks in recruitment processes. Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar was also present at the event.
