An official order regarding the action was issued by the Mission Director.
Serious irregularities alleged
The department accused the organization of several serious irregularities. According to officials:
- Employees were not being paid the government-approved salaries.
- Workers were allegedly denied benefits such as EPF and ESI.
Investigation confirmed violations
Before taking action, the department conducted an inquiry into the allegations. During the investigation, it was found that ambulance vehicles had not been insured till April 17, 2026.
The department termed this a violation of both:
- Contractual conditions
- The Motor Vehicles Act
Poor ambulance operations affected public
Samman Foundation had also faced allegations of failing to properly operate the ambulance service, causing inconvenience to the public. The department’s investigation reportedly confirmed these concerns.
Officials said delayed salaries for ambulance staff also affected the quality and continuity of emergency services.
Reply found unsatisfactory
The department stated that it had sought an explanation from the organization following media reports and public complaints. However, the response submitted by Samman Foundation was found to be unsatisfactory.
Service to continue temporarily
The government has clarified that until a new service provider is selected, Samman Foundation will continue operating the 108 ambulance service to ensure that patients and emergency medical services are not disrupted.
