India News : A tragic incident has been reported from Shahdol district, where a 32-year-old woman and her three daughters died after consuming pesticide.

According to police, the incident took place on Saturday night in Hirwar village under the Papaund police station area of Beohari region. Station House Officer (SHO) Brijendra Mishra said that Anita Singh (32) allegedly fed pesticide to her three daughters before consuming it herself.

Two of the children, Ritika (4) and Krishnakumari (2), died shortly after consuming the poisonous substance. The third daughter, Arpita, succumbed during treatment on Sunday. Anita Singh also died shortly after being taken to the hospital.

Police said that the eldest daughter informed neighbors that her mother had given pesticide to the children. She also reportedly told them that after administering the poison, Anita set fire to documents, clothes, photographs, and stored grain inside the house.

Investigators recovered a packet of aluminum phosphide from the scene. Preliminary inquiries revealed that Anita was living separately from her in-laws with her children. Her husband, a driver by profession, was away in Hyderabad at the time of the incident.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Statements of family members and relatives are being recorded, and authorities are trying to determine the circumstances and motive behind the tragic incident. The woman’s husband has been informed, and further investigation is underway.
