India News : The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), which began as a social media meme and digital campaign, is now preparing for a major on-ground protest against alleged paper leaks in examinations such as NEET-UG and CBSE.
The party’s founder, Abhijeet Dipke, is expected to return to Delhi from the United States on June 6 to lead the movement. Ahead of the planned demonstrations, the party has appointed three spokespersons: Sourav Das, Vijeta Dahiya, and Ashutosh Ranka.
On Wednesday, the three spokespersons held the party’s first press conference at Constitution Club in Delhi and demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Who is Sourav Das?
Sourav Das has been appointed as the Chief Spokesperson of the party.
A journalist by profession, Das has written extensively on legal, judicial, and social issues. He is also known for his work as a social activist.
His notable activities include:
- Participating in anti-pollution protests at India Gate in November 2025.
- Using Right to Information (RTI) applications to obtain and publicize important information.
- Gaining attention during the COVID-19 period for efforts related to transparency surrounding the Aarogya Setu app.
Das expressed his enthusiasm about joining the party as its chief spokesperson through a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Who is Vijeta Dahiya?
Vijeta Dahiya, originally from Haryana and currently based in Mumbai, has also been appointed as a spokesperson.
He graduated from Delhi Technological University (DTU) and is known as a:
- Political researcher
- Author
- Filmmaker
Dahiya has worked as a researcher and scriptwriter for popular YouTuber Dhruv Rathee.
His achievements include:
- Recognition as a top writer on Quora Hindi.
- Authoring two books, Power of Universe and To Hell With That Job.
- Writing and directing Haryanvi films such as Dararen and Opri Parai.
Who is Ashutosh Ranka?
Ashutosh Ranka is the third spokesperson appointed by the party.
He holds:
- A B.Tech degree from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur).
- A Master’s degree in Public Administration from London School of Economics (LSE).
Ranka has previously worked with the global consulting firm McKinsey and has been actively involved in campaigns related to education, youth issues, and environmental causes.
After returning from London last year, he reportedly led several public campaigns in Jaipur and has been vocal on issues such as the NEET paper leak controversy, education reforms, and transparency in public systems.
Protest Planned for June 6
According to the party, founder Abhijeet Dipke will arrive in Delhi on June 6, after which permission will be sought for a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar.
The Cockroach Janata Party says its primary objective is to push for greater transparency, accountability, and reforms in India’s examination and education systems.
