India News : A major fire broke out in an apartment on the 12th floor of a residential society in Sector 75, Noida, after an air conditioner reportedly exploded. The incident triggered panic among residents, although no casualties were reported.
Fire Started After AC Explosion
According to Pradeep Kumar Chaubey, the fire occurred in an apartment at IB County Society on Wednesday morning.
The fire is believed to have started after an air conditioner installed inside the flat exploded. Firefighters and the society’s maintenance staff quickly launched a joint operation to contain the blaze.
Residents Evacuated Safely
The thick smoke and flames created panic throughout the residential complex. Residents living in apartments directly above and below the affected flat rushed out of their homes as a precaution.
Emergency responders successfully evacuated all occupants from the affected area and prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring apartments.
Six Fire Tenders Deployed
The fire department deployed six fire engines to the scene. After an intensive operation, firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control.
Officials confirmed that no injuries or loss of life were reported in the incident.
Rise in AC-Related Fire Incidents
The Chief Fire Officer noted that air conditioner-related fires have increased during the summer season due to heavy usage and technical faults.
According to fire department data, more than 90 fire incidents linked to AC explosions or malfunctions have been reported so far during the current summer season.
Fire Safety Advisory
The fire department has advised residents to:
- Regularly service air conditioners and electrical appliances.
- Avoid overloading electrical circuits.
- Ensure proper wiring and maintenance of cooling systems.
- Immediately report any signs of electrical malfunction or fire hazards.
Authorities are conducting a detailed investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion and subsequent fire.
