India News : After facing severe criticism over alleged paper leaks during the NEET examination earlier this year, the Central Government and the National Testing Agency have introduced an unprecedented security framework for the NEET Re-Examination scheduled on June 21, 2026.
According to reports, sealed question papers have already begun reaching state capitals and strategic storage hubs nearly five days before the examination. This time, authorities have adopted a multi-layered security system aimed at eliminating any possibility of paper leaks.
Indian Air Force Takes Charge of Transportation
For the first time, the Indian Air Force has reportedly been deployed to transport examination materials.
Massive Boeing C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft and Mil Mi-17 helicopters are being used to airlift sealed question paper packages directly from printing facilities to 18 major strategic hubs across the country, including cities such as Patna and Jaipur.
The objective is to eliminate intermediate handling points and reduce the risk of unauthorized access during transportation.
Strict Chain of Custody
Authorities have established a highly controlled chain of custody. Once the papers leave the printing presses, access is restricted to authorized personnel only.
By using military transportation, officials aim to ensure that question papers move directly to designated centers without passing through multiple civilian logistics networks.
CRPF and CISF Providing Ground Security
After the question papers arrive at airports or airbases, responsibility shifts to security personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force and the Central Industrial Security Force.
These forces escort the sealed packets to highly secured storage facilities where they are kept under round-the-clock surveillance.
Instead of ordinary government offices, the papers are reportedly being stored in fortified strong rooms and secure vaults monitored by security agencies.
Massive Security Deployment on Exam Day
The security arrangements extend beyond transportation and storage. On June 21, examination centers across the country will operate under heightened security.
Reports suggest that nearly 500,000 security personnel will be deployed at examination centers, transportation hubs, and storage facilities.
AI-Powered Surveillance System
A major feature of the new security plan is the use of Artificial Intelligence-based monitoring.
More than 100,000 CCTV cameras installed at examination centers are expected to be connected to centralized monitoring systems operated by intelligence and investigative agencies. The surveillance network will reportedly include AI-enabled facial recognition technology to identify suspicious activity in real time.
Aim: Prevent Any Repeat of Paper Leak Controversies
The enhanced measures have been introduced following widespread concerns over examination integrity. Officials hope that the combination of military logistics, paramilitary security, advanced surveillance, and strict monitoring will ensure a transparent and secure examination process for millions of candidates appearing in the NEET Re-Examination 2026.
