Bihar News : Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday performed the Bhumi Pujan and formally launched the construction of a G+6 Science Block and Auditorium at Magadh Mahila College in Patna. Addressing the programme, he said educated and self-reliant women are the strong foundation of a prosperous Bihar.
The Chief Minister said “Women’s Progress, Bihar’s Progress” is a priority of the state government. He said providing quality education, modern facilities and adequate opportunities to Bihar’s daughters and sisters is essential for building a developed and prosperous Bihar.
He said infrastructure in the higher education sector is being strengthened. The new Science Block will provide students of Magadh Mahila College with a better and modern academic environment for studying science subjects.
The facility will also help prepare students for higher education, research and new employment opportunities. The Chief Minister said girls today are demonstrating their talent across every field of education.
CM Urges Students to Set Goals and Move Ahead With Confidence
While interacting with students, CM Samrat Choudhary said the government is working to provide them with the resources and facilities required to progress. He urged students to set clear goals and move ahead with hard work and confidence.
He said women and girls have an important role in fulfilling the vision of “Developed India and Prosperous Bihar.” In line with the principle of “Respect for Sisters, Identity of the Government,” the state government is continuously prioritising women’s education, safety, dignity and self-reliance.
The Chief Minister said providing better education and opportunities to Bihar’s daughters is essential to giving fresh momentum to the state’s development journey. He reiterated that educated and self-reliant women are the strong foundation of a prosperous Bihar.
Students Share Problems and Suggestions With CM
During the interaction, students of Magadh Mahila College shared their problems and suggestions with the Chief Minister. CM Samrat Choudhary told them, “Tell us everything without fear. We have come among you to understand what you and your college need in the academic field and how Magadh Mahila College can be made better.”
While interacting with research scholars, the Chief Minister highlighted the Chief Minister’s Girls’ PhD Fellowship Scheme, which has been launched to enable more female students to pursue research.
He also said Police Didi personnel have been deployed at educational institutions during teaching hours to prevent anti-social activities. He stressed that girls and women should be able to study safely.
The Chief Minister said the government is supporting students pursuing higher education through the Student Credit Card Scheme in Bihar. He also said 211 degree colleges were opened in a single day so that more students could pursue their studies effectively.
He said 700 Saraswati Vidya Niketan Model Schools have also been started. Through the Vidyarthi Sahayog Portal, students can submit their problems and suggestions online. He said their problems will be resolved within 30 days and their suggestions will also be useful to the government.
Focus on Skills, Sports and Overall Development
The Chief Minister encouraged students of Magadh Mahila College to participate in sports, gym activities and other programmes along with their studies for their overall development.
He said the government wants Bihar’s daughters to become skilled and pursue higher education. He added that girls in Bihar should develop such abilities and confidence that they become not only employment seekers but also employment providers.
‘Swar’ Magazine Released, Girls’ Hostel Inspected
During the programme, the Chief Minister released the ‘Swar’ magazine. NCC students presented him with a Guard of Honour.
CM Samrat Choudhary also inspected the women’s hostel at Magadh Mahila College and took information about the facilities available there. He said the girls should not face any kind of inconvenience.
Research scholars presented an appreciation letter to the Chief Minister and expressed their gratitude for the Chief Minister’s Girls’ PhD Fellowship Scheme. Students of Magadh Mahila College also tied a Raksha Sutra to the Chief Minister.
The programme was attended by Higher Education Minister Sanjay Singh Tiger, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Director General of Police Vinay Kumar, Chief Minister’s Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh, Patna University Vice-Chancellor Professor Ajay Kumar Singh, Magadh Mahila College Principal Professor Dr N.P. Verma, along with other teachers and students.
