Bhagalpur Flood: Ganga Water Enters Urban Areas, TMBU Campus Submerged

Bihar News : The flood situation in Bhagalpur is becoming increasingly serious as the water level of the Ganga continues to rise. Floodwater has now started entering urban and residential areas after affecting rural regions, while several parts of the Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) campus have also been inundated.

The rising water level has increased the difficulties of thousands of people living in low-lying areas. The district administration is continuously monitoring the affected and vulnerable areas and has advised residents to remain alert and move to safer locations when required.

Nathnagar Villages Under Floodwater

Nathnagar block has been among the worst-affected areas. Several villages have come under the grip of floodwater, while roads are submerged under several feet of water.

The flooding has disrupted connectivity with main routes and created difficulties for people travelling and arranging essential daily supplies. The worsening situation is now also beginning to affect the education system.

Floodwater Enters TMBU Campus

Floodwater has entered several parts of the Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University campus. Water has spread around administrative buildings and academic departments, creating concern among students and university employees.

If the water level continues to rise, the functioning of the university could be seriously affected. The entry of floodwater into the campus has further increased concerns over the situation in Bhagalpur.

Concern Over the Next 24 to 48 Hours

The water level of the Ganga has shown no sign of stabilising. It is feared that if the rise continues over the next 24 to 48 hours, floodwater could spread further into other low-lying and residential areas of the city.

The district administration is keeping a close watch on the situation and monitoring vulnerable areas. People have been advised to remain alert and move to safer places if necessary.

For now, the rising Ganga has created concern in both rural and urban areas of Bhagalpur, with the coming days expected to remain challenging for the district.
