Bihar News : The Chief Minister Women Entrepreneurs Scheme is helping women in Bihar move towards self-employment and financial independence. More than 9,100 women have started their own businesses under the scheme so far, while the Industries Department said that benefits worth more than ₹671 crore have been provided to women entrepreneurs.

The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to women who want to start their own businesses. Through the initiative, women across Bihar are increasingly taking up entrepreneurship and creating employment opportunities for others.
Pallavi Starts Diaper and Sanitary Napkin Manufacturing Unit
Pallavi Priyadarshini, a resident of Jhiktiya village in Gaya district, started a business manufacturing disposable diapers and sanitary napkins after receiving support under the Chief Minister Women Entrepreneurs Scheme.
According to Pallavi, financial assistance, training and guidance under the scheme helped her overcome limited resources and social challenges and turn her idea into a business.
Today, Pallavi’s unit provides employment to local women. She has also started providing training at her unit. Along with manufacturing hygiene products, the initiative is giving women an opportunity to become self-reliant.
Business Started With ₹10 Lakh Support, Annual Income Reaches ₹30 Lakh
According to Pallavi Priyadarshini, she received ₹10 lakh under the Chief Minister Women Entrepreneurs Scheme and used the support to expand her business.
Her unit currently generates annual earnings of up to ₹30 lakh. The quality and affordable pricing of her products have helped the business establish a presence in the local market.
Several women from the village work with her and contribute to increasing their family incomes. Pallavi’s journey offers an example for women who want to start businesses despite having limited resources.
Husband Worked in Other States, Scheme Changed Aarti’s Life
Aarti Kumar, a resident of Ramchandra Bigha village in Arwal district, also faced financial difficulties earlier. Her husband, Yogendra Chaudhary, worked as a labourer in other states to support the family.
Aarti applied under the Chief Minister Women Entrepreneurs Scheme and received approval for ₹10 lakh. With the financial assistance, she started making ready-made garments for small children in the local market.
She named her business Durga Silai Centre. According to Aarti, the business now provides her with an income of around ₹20,000 per month.
Aarti and her husband work together in the business. After receiving support under the scheme, her husband no longer needs to travel to other states for labour work.
Scheme Provides Up to ₹10 Lakh in Assistance
Under the Chief Minister Women Entrepreneurs Scheme, women starting new businesses can receive an interest-free loan of up to 50 percent of the project cost and a special incentive grant of up to 50 percent.
Under the scheme:
- Up to ₹5 lakh interest-free loan is available.
- Up to ₹5 lakh special incentive grant is provided.
- Eligible women entrepreneurs can receive total assistance of up to ₹10 lakh.
Through the scheme, the government aims not only to provide financial assistance to women but also to help them establish businesses, become self-reliant and create employment opportunities.
