Known as ‘R.K.’ in the Security Industry
Dr Sinha was widely known as ‘R.K.’ in the security industry. A first-generation entrepreneur, he founded Security and Intelligence Services (India) Limited (SIS) in 1974 with a team of just two people operating from a small rented office in eastern India.
The idea behind establishing SIS emerged after the 1971 India-Pakistan War. Sinha wanted to create employment opportunities for retired armed forces personnel and help them transition into civilian life.
Under his leadership, SIS expanded its operations across India and international markets, becoming a recognised name in private security and business support services.
His entrepreneurial journey also helped create employment opportunities for thousands of people, making him an influential figure in India’s organised private security sector.
