West Singhbhum: In the Bandgaon block of West Singhbhum district, persistent torrential rain—triggered by a cyclonic storm—has compounded the hardships faced by local villagers. In Rajaparom village, under the Landupoda Panchayat, three mud-and-tile houses collapsed completely due to the heavy downpour. With their homes reduced to rubble, three families are now facing a critical crisis regarding shelter and safe accommodation.
Following intense rainfall on Thursday night, three houses—constructed of mud and roof tiles—suddenly collapsed. The homes belonging to Jobna Purty (widow of the late Ramesh Purty), Madhu Purty (widow of the late Lav Purty), and Daniel Purty (son of Soma Purty) were completely destroyed. The collapse has caused significant losses for the affected families, who are now left without a safe roof over their heads.
Upon learning of the incident, Kush Purty, the Mukhiya (village head) of Landupoda Panchayat, visited Rajaparom village. He inspected the damaged homes, met with the affected families to assess their situation, and evaluated the extent of the damage caused by this natural disaster.
The villagers have urged the district administration to conduct an immediate assessment of the damaged homes and provide appropriate compensation and financial assistance to the affected families under disaster relief provisions. Furthermore, they have requested the immediate arrangement of safe, temporary housing for those left homeless, to provide them with relief during this difficult time.
