Big News: ED Conducts Raids at Vedanta Group Offices

India News : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched a major action against Vedanta Limited, one of India’s leading corporate groups. ED officials have conducted raids at multiple offices and premises linked to the company. The action is reportedly related to a financial transaction case involving around ₹1,500 crore. While the raids began on June 1, details of the operation became public on June 2.

According to media reports, ED teams are examining documents and financial records at various Vedanta locations. Investigators are reportedly looking into cross-border financial transactions, fund routing practices, and possible violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).

Vedanta Group is a major player in India’s mining, metals, energy, and natural resources sectors. The company was recently in the spotlight after raising objections regarding the acquisition of Jaiprakash Associates, leading to a high-profile business rivalry with the Adani Group.

Following reports of the raids, Vedanta’s shares witnessed significant market fluctuations. In its statement, the company said it is fully cooperating with the investigation and maintained that no laws have been violated by the group.

So far, the ED has not issued any official statement regarding the raids. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge in the coming days.
