Patna: The draft of the Bihar Building Bye-Laws 2026 was reviewed at a high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary on Friday evening. The meeting focused on making the proposed bye-laws more effective, simple and people-friendly, with emphasis on incorporating suggestions received from all stakeholders.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said suggestions from all stakeholders would play an important role in making the Bihar Building Bye-Laws 2026 more effective, simpler and more useful for the public.
Focus on Transparency and Simplicity
Minister Nitish Mishra said the draft of the Bihar Building Bye-Laws 2026 has been prepared around the principles of transparency, simplicity, faster procedures and sustainable development. The objective is to make building-related processes easier and time-bound while promoting planned and modern development in urban areas of the state.
He said the draft represents a progressive and development-oriented step in line with Bihar’s changing urban landscape.
Boost to Construction and Investment
Nitish Mishra said the draft has been prepared in accordance with Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s vision of a developed Bihar, keeping in mind the planned and sustainable development of cities across the state.
He said simple and transparent provisions would give a boost to building construction and investment. This would also support the expansion of infrastructure, economic activities and employment opportunities.
Officials Present at the Meeting
The meeting was attended by K.K. Pathak, Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India; Pratyaya Amrit, Chief Secretary, Government of Bihar; Vinay Kumar, Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department; and Nilesh Ramchandra Devre, Special Secretary.
Patna Municipal Corporation Commissioner Yashpal Meena and other officials were also present at the review meeting.
