Bihar News : The Bihar government has started the process of providing land to landless schools on a priority basis. The Revenue and Land Reforms Department has made five acres of land available for each of 20 Kendriya Vidyalayas in the state.
Along with providing land to landless schools, the department has also initiated action to remove encroachments from school premises and playgrounds.
147 Schools Have Land Under Encroachment
Last month, the Education Department had directed concerned education officials to provide a list of landless schools in the state. The list showed that the land of around 147 schools had been affected by encroachment.
Following this, the Education Department requested the Revenue Department to provide land for landless schools and free school land from encroachments.
Action Underway to Remove Encroachments
According to the information available, the Revenue Department has provided five acres of land each to 20 Kendriya Vidyalayas in the state.
The department has also started the process of providing land to other landless schools and removing encroachments from school land.
