Bihar News : The Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme is giving rural women in Bihar greater confidence to start their own businesses. Beneficiaries who received ₹10,000 under the scheme say the financial support is helping them turn their ideas into sustainable livelihood opportunities within their villages.
Veena Kumari plans to start a sewing centre
Veena Kumari, a resident of Masaurhi and a beneficiary who received ₹10,000 under the Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme, said she is now preparing to start a sewing centre in her village with the assistance.
She said the centre will help local women get sarees and suits stitched and embroidered within the village, eliminating the need to travel to distant markets for these services.
Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister, Veena said the government has continued to support women at every step of their progress. She added that the NDA government has taken several steps for women’s advancement that were once difficult to imagine.
According to her, women in rural Bihar are now running businesses such as fish farming, dairy farming, sewing centres, common service centres, medical stores and general stores, along with several other essential enterprises.
Nibha Devi to expand her existing business
Nibha Devi, a resident of Naubatpur, said she received ₹10,000 under the Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme and plans to use the amount to further expand her business.
She said women in villages have become increasingly aware and confident with the support of the Chief Minister. According to Nibha, the scheme has given women the confidence to turn the idea of self-employment into reality.
She expressed her gratitude to the Chief Minister for the initiative and support being provided to women across Bihar.
Kanti Devi plans to expand village shop
Kanti Devi, a beneficiary from Masaurhi, said she received ₹10,000 with the support of Jeevika Didi. She plans to use the amount to expand her shop on a larger scale.
She said the objective is not only to strengthen her own livelihood but also to create opportunities for the young members of her family. This, she said, would help them avoid having to leave their home or migrate to other states in search of employment.
₹17,300 crore released to Jeevika Didi groups
According to the information provided, under the Chief Minister Incentive Scheme, a total of ₹16,700 crore in incentive assistance has so far been provided to Jeevika Didi beneficiaries.
In addition, ₹600 crore was released on Thursday. With this latest release, a total of ₹17,300 crore has now been released into the accounts of the beneficiaries.
The government has also facilitated loans of more than ₹74,100 crore from banks for these women, providing further financial support for their livelihood and business activities.
