Chief Minister Hemant Soren Hands Over Appointment Letters to 1,042 Newly Selected Assistant Teachers
  • Says teachers are the architects of Jharkhand’s future

Jharkhand News : Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday handed over appointment letters to 1,042 newly selected Intermediate and Graduate Trained Assistant Teachers at a ceremony held at Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium in Khelgaon, Ranchi. Addressing the gathering, he said that the newly appointed teachers carry not only the responsibility of teaching but also the crucial task of shaping the future of Jharkhand’s next generation.

Congratulating the selected candidates, the Chief Minister said the government had entrusted them with more than just employment—it had assigned them the responsibility of contributing to nation-building and social development.

He emphasized that teachers play a pivotal role in determining the intellectual growth of the state and the future of its youth. “The direction in which Jharkhand progresses academically and intellectually will largely depend on the dedication and commitment of its teachers,” he said.

Teachers must help take education to new heights

Soren described teachers as one of the most important pillars of society, saying their knowledge, conduct and work ethic directly influence students’ personalities and the state’s future. He urged the newly appointed teachers to work with dedication and help establish Jharkhand among the leading states in the field of education.

“Be the eyes, ears and hands of the government”

The Chief Minister said the government is accountable to all 32.5 million residents of Jharkhand, including officials, employees, farmers, women, senior citizens, youth and students. While the government is fulfilling its responsibilities, he said, citizens must also discharge their duties with a strong sense of civic responsibility to build a better society.

He called upon the teachers to act as the “eyes, ears and hands of the government” and ensure that quality education reaches even the most remote and geographically challenging areas of the state.

Zero tolerance for misconduct against children

Highlighting child safety as the government’s top priority, Soren said there should be no incidents of abuse, violence or inhumane treatment of children in any school. He warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found guilty of such misconduct.

“The government is committed to supporting teachers, but there can be no compromise when it comes to the safety and dignity of children,” he said.

Identity is defined by capability, not caste or religion

Referring to incidents that often surface on social media, the Chief Minister urged teachers to treat students with sensitivity, responsibility and compassion. He said that in today’s world, a person’s identity is defined not by caste or religion but by capability, competence, work and values.

He expressed confidence that if teachers perform their duties with honesty, dedication and commitment, the benefits would extend beyond students to the entire state and society.

The newly appointed assistant teachers thanked the Chief Minister for the appointments. The ceremony was attended by Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, School Education and Literacy Department Secretary Uma Shankar Singh, senior government officials, the newly appointed assistant teachers and their family members.
