Bihar News : Children living in shelter homes will now have easier access to hospitals and courts. The Social Welfare Department has arranged four-wheelers for 40 shelter homes across the state to ensure safe and convenient transportation for children.
The vehicles will be used to take children to hospitals for treatment and health check-ups, as well as to courts for hearings and other designated locations when required. The new arrangement is expected to make their travel more organized and convenient.
40 Shelter Homes to Get One Vehicle Each
According to the Social Welfare Department, each of the 40 shelter homes will be provided with one four-wheeler. The vehicles will be used according to the needs of children living in these homes.
Until now, children often had to travel by auto-rickshaws, cycle-rickshaws or other available modes of transport. The new arrangement will provide a more organized transportation facility.
Vehicles to Remain Available 24 Hours a Day
The vehicle service will be provided through outsourcing. A four-wheeler will remain available for all 40 shelter homes seven days a week and 24 hours a day.
The round-the-clock facility will also help ensure that children can be taken to hospitals or other necessary locations without delay in emergency situations. The department will pay Rs 75,000 per vehicle per month.
Arrangement Approved for One Year
The Social Welfare Department has approved the arrangement for one year. According to departmental information, a total of Rs 3.60 crore will be spent over the year for providing vehicles to the 40 shelter homes.
The initiative aims to provide safer and smoother transportation for children living in shelter homes. Whether it is a health check-up, medical treatment or a court hearing, children will no longer have to wait for a vehicle to become available.
