Bihar News : Bihar politics has begun witnessing fresh political positioning over the upcoming Assembly elections, with Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) publicly setting the goal of making Union Minister Chirag Paswan the Chief Minister of Bihar.
The party’s national general secretary and Govindganj MLA, Raju Tiwari, said on Friday that LJP (Ram Vilas) would form its own government in the upcoming Assembly elections and fulfil its resolve to make Chirag Paswan the Chief Minister.
Tiwari’s statement has triggered discussion in Bihar’s political circles, particularly within the NDA. LJP (Ram Vilas) is currently an NDA ally, while Chirag Paswan is a minister in the Narendra Modi-led central government.
LJP Ram Vilas Leaders Gather in Patna
The statement was made during a programme organised at the LJP (Ram Vilas) state office on Wheeler Road in Patna. The event was held to felicitate newly appointed state president Surendra Vivek and members of the party’s national executive.
Party national president Chirag Paswan was also present at the programme.
Addressing party workers and leaders, former state president and current national general secretary Raju Tiwari spoke about the party’s future political strategy. He said party workers were moving forward with a resolve to make Chirag Paswan the Chief Minister and would work to fulfil that goal in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Surendra Vivek Supports Raju Tiwari’s Statement
Speaking to journalists after the programme, LJP (Ram Vilas) state president Surendra Vivek also supported Raju Tiwari’s statement.
He said that whether the Assembly elections are held in 2029 or 2030, the party’s goal is to make Chirag Paswan the Chief Minister.
Surendra Vivek said that when LJP Ram Vilas becomes the number one party in Bihar, Chirag Paswan would naturally become the Chief Minister.
LJP Ram Vilas Won 19 Seats in 2025
LJP (Ram Vilas) contested 28 seats in the 2025 Assembly elections and won 19 of them. Following this, the party’s influence in the Bihar Assembly increased.
Chirag Paswan is the party president and also serves as a Union Minister, while LJP (Ram Vilas) remains a part of the NDA. Against this backdrop, the claim made by the party’s national general secretary and its support by the state president are being viewed as significant in the context of Bihar’s alliance politics.
Focus on Future Political Strategy
Although the Assembly elections are still some distance away, LJP (Ram Vilas) has indicated through these statements that it wants to move ahead with a clear strategy regarding its role in Bihar’s future politics.
The latest statements by party leaders have also raised questions about how the claims of NDA allies regarding the Chief Minister’s post and seat-sharing may emerge in the future.
