Cockroach Janata Party Cleared to Hold Protest at Jantar Mantar, Delhi Police Grants Permission

India News : The path has been cleared for the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) to hold its proposed protest at Jantar Mantar, after Delhi Police granted permission for the demonstration.

Earlier, CJP had appealed to its supporters to gather outside Parliament Street Police Station on Saturday morning to seek permission for a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar. The move came after the Delhi High Court declined an urgent hearing on a petition seeking to stop the protest, leaving no immediate legal obstacle to the event.

Protest Demands Education Minister’s Resignation

The demonstration is being led by Abhijeet Dipke, who has demanded the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET paper leak and irregularities in the education system.

Dipke arrived in New Delhi from Boston, USA, on Saturday morning. In a post on X, he urged supporters to bring books and the Indian national flag to the protest.

He wrote:

“I’ve landed. Looking forward to meeting all of you at Jantar Mantar. Don’t forget to bring a book and our tricolor. Offer flowers to police personnel as a gesture of gratitude and compassion. We must lead this movement with love and peace.”

Security Tightened Across the Capital

Keeping the protest in mind, Delhi Police has increased surveillance and deployed additional personnel in sensitive areas of the capital. Officials said adequate arrangements have been made to maintain law and order.

Security has also been strengthened near the official residences of Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Dharmendra Pradhan, and other senior ministers.

Sonam Wangchuk Expressed Support

Education reform advocate and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk had earlier stated that he would join the protest if the Education Minister did not resign by June 5.

Extensive Police Arrangements

More than 1,000 police personnel have reportedly been deployed in the New Delhi area. Officers have been instructed to avoid confrontation with protesters and to maintain peace through dialogue.

Central Delhi has been divided into 12 security zones, each supervised by a DCP-rank officer. All district and unit-level police officials have been placed on alert due to concerns over possible traffic disruptions and law-and-order challenges during the protest.
