India News : Police have arrested four people in connection with the murder of elderly Rakesh Khanna in Rohini Sector 3. The accused have been identified as Simran, Chirag, Paras and Himanshu. Police said Himanshu is Simran’s boyfriend and is also the owner of a gym.
According to the investigation, Simran is the daughter of Rakesh Khanna’s brother-in-law and allegedly planned the entire conspiracy. Police said Khanna was alone at home when the murder took place.
Simran Allegedly Got the Central Lock Opened
According to police, Simran had the central lock of the house opened on the day of the incident. Chirag and Paras then entered the house and allegedly killed Rakesh Khanna.
While Chirag and Paras were inside carrying out the attack, Simran and Himanshu reportedly stood downstairs in the building and kept watch to ensure that no one became suspicious.
Gold Purchased With Flat Sale Proceeds Was the Target
The investigation revealed that Simran allegedly knew that Rakesh Khanna had recently sold a flat for around ₹80 lakh. Police said he had converted the money into gold.
According to the police, Simran and her associates allegedly planned the murder with the intention of stealing the gold.
Wife and Relatives Sent to a Fair
As part of the alleged plan, Simran sent her aunt, who was Rakesh Khanna’s wife, and some other relatives out on the pretext of taking them to a fair.
After the relatives left the house, Simran and her associates allegedly carried out the plan and killed Rakesh Khanna.
Only Jewellery Worth Around ₹1.5 Lakh Found
Police said the accused managed to take jewellery worth around ₹1.5 lakh from the house. The remaining jewellery had already been hidden by Rakesh Khanna elsewhere.
Police have recovered the stolen jewellery from the accused. Further investigation and legal proceedings are underway.
