India News : In a special ceremony held on 3rd September 2025 at Sankalp Hall, Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) reaffirmed its commitment to employee welfare by offering 51 new appointments under the Dependent Employment Scheme of the National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA).
The event was graced by Director (Finance) Md. Anzar Alam, Director (HR) Gunjan Kumar Sinha, and Chief Vigilance Officer Deepti Patel. Addressing the new appointees, the dignitaries emphasized the importance of integrity and dedication in fulfilling their responsibilities and contributing to nation-building.
Providing dependent employment under NCWA has been a longstanding tradition at Coal India Limited (CIL) and ECL, aimed at supporting the families of deceased employees. This initiative serves as a lifeline for affected families, ensuring continued support and financial stability during difficult times.
During the last financial year (2024–25), ECL provided 1,042 dependent employments under NCWA and made 236 appointments under the Rehabilitation & Resettlement (R&R) scheme. In the current calendar year, ECL has already made 446 NCWA appointments and 189 under R&R.
HR Managers from various Areas, along with executives and staff from both field offices and headquarters, were also present to witness the occasion.
