Fire Breaks Out in Gareeb Rath Express Engine, Major Tragedy Averted

According to reports, smoke was spotted billowing from the rear of the engine just as the train approached Sendra. Demonstrating quick thinking, the loco pilot immediately applied the emergency brakes and brought the train to a halt. He also alerted the control room via wireless communication.

The prompt action prevented the fire from spreading, and emergency response measures were initiated swiftly. Despite the scare, no injuries were reported among the passengers. However, the entire Ajmer-Byawar rail section came to a standstill, disrupting multiple train services.

Witnesses reported that sparks and smoke were seen emerging from the engine, causing panic among passengers. Many people attempted to get off the train, but railway personnel managed the situation and ensured everyone remained safe.

Preliminary investigations by the railway authorities suggest a technical fault or a short circuit as the probable cause of the fire. Railway spokesperson Shashikiran confirmed that no passengers were harmed. Railway engineers and RPF teams from Ajmer were immediately dispatched to the site to control the fire and begin clearing the engine from the tracks.

As a result of the incident, the train remained stranded on the tracks for several hours, blocking other trains along the Ajmer-Byawar route. Some trains were delayed, while others were diverted. Railway officials are working to restore normal train operations as quickly as possible.

Emergency services, including fire trucks and ambulances, were deployed as a precautionary measure. Fortunately, they were not needed as the situation was brought under control without any casualties.

The incident has raised concerns over the safety and maintenance of trains, especially during peak travel hours. Passengers praised the loco pilot’s timely action, which likely prevented a far more serious outcome.

Railway authorities have assured that a full investigation will be conducted to determine the exact cause and to prevent similar incidents in the future.
