India News : GNIOT Group of Institutions organised the grand “Navankur 2026 – Orientation Programme” at India Expo Mart and Centre in Greater Noida to mark an inspiring beginning to the academic journey of newly admitted students.
Organised around the theme “New Beginnings, New Aspirations,” the event witnessed the participation of more than 1,500 newly admitted Engineering and MCA students.
Focus on Technology, Innovation and Overall Development
GNIOT Group of Institutions, which has completed 25 years in the field of education, has received NAAC A+ accreditation, while its engineering programmes are accredited by the NBA.
The orientation programme aimed to introduce students to opportunities beyond classroom education, including technical knowledge, industry exposure, science, innovation, leadership, sports, creativity and personality development.
The programme was attended by Kapil Mishra, Cabinet Minister, Delhi Government, as the chief guest. Other prominent personalities who addressed the students included Abhishek Singh, ISRO scientist and Chandrayaan-3 Project Manager; Aakash Chopra, cricket commentator and YouTuber; Mahesh Narayan, Director – Consulting, Digital Risk and Responsible Artificial Intelligence, EY; Sanket Ramakrishnamurthy, Global Head – Human Resources Operations, Autorebit; and actor and poet Dinesh Bawra.
Programme Begins with Traditional Welcome
The event began with the welcome of guests, lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a Ganesh Vandana.
On the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Dheeraj Gupta, Director, GNIOT, shared details about the institution’s academic achievements, modern teaching methods and activities designed for the overall development of students.
Kapil Mishra Inspires Students
Chief Guest Kapil Mishra, Cabinet Minister in the Delhi Government, encouraged students to make the most of the opportunities available in present-day India.
He said, “Today’s India is an India of opportunities. Young people have more opportunities than ever before to prove their talent and capabilities before the country and the world. Students should not limit themselves to the goal of getting a job. They should also aim to become job creators through new ideas, innovation and entrepreneurship.”
He further said that in the age of technology, knowledge must be accompanied by values, discipline, responsibility towards the nation and a continuous desire to learn.
Kapil Mishra expressed confidence that GNIOT students would play an important role in the country’s development in the coming years. He urged students to set clear goals and move forward with dedication, discipline and positive thinking.
GNIOT Leadership Welcomes New Students
Dr. Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Chairman, GNIOT Group, said that the purpose of education is not limited to earning a degree. He said education should help develop knowledge, skills, innovation, leadership qualities and a sense of social responsibility among students.
He encouraged students to remain committed to their goals and continue learning throughout their academic and professional journeys.
Gaurav Gupta, Vice Chairman, GNIOT Group, welcomed the newly admitted students and congratulated them on becoming part of the institution’s academic tradition. He encouraged students to identify their talent, learn new skills and make the best use of available opportunities.
Swadesh Kumar Singh, Chief Executive Officer, GNIOT Group of Institutions, also welcomed the students. He said that along with technical knowledge, communication skills, adaptability, industry exposure and leadership abilities have become increasingly important.

ISRO Scientist Shares Chandrayaan-3 Experience
A major highlight of the programme was the inspirational address by ISRO scientist Abhishek Singh.
He spoke about the Chandrayaan-3 mission, India’s space achievements and the importance of scientific thinking, inspiring students to pursue their goals with determination and a spirit of innovation.
The orientation programme provided newly admitted students with an opportunity to interact with personalities from diverse fields and gain insights into academics, technology, industry, innovation and career development.
