Heatwave Continues in West Bengal, Temperature Reaches 43 Degrees Celsius

India News : West Bengal is currently witnessing intense heat and humidity, severely affecting normal life across the state. Maximum temperatures in most regions are ranging between 38 and 43 degrees Celsius.

The impact of the heatwave is being felt most strongly in West Midnapore and Kharagpur, where temperatures have reached 40 to 41 degrees Celsius. Due to high humidity levels, the real-feel temperature is touching 43 to 45 degrees Celsius. The weather has remained mostly clear to partly cloudy, although some areas may experience light thundershowers.

Conditions in Kolkata and other parts of South Bengal are also similar, with maximum temperatures ranging between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius. The humidity is making the heat feel even more intense, though light winds may provide slight relief.

Meanwhile, the weather remains comparatively cooler in the sub-Himalayan districts of North Bengal. Areas including Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri are witnessing intermittent rain and thunderstorms, leading to a drop in temperature.

According to the weather department, there is little chance of major relief from the heat in South Bengal over the next few days, while North Bengal is likely to continue receiving intermittent rainfall.
