Jharkhand News : The impact of rising tensions between the United States and Iran is now being felt in East Singhbhum (Jamshedpur) as well. Amid the international situation, concerns over the supply of cooking gas in the city appear to be increasing. Several consumers say they are facing difficulties in booking LPG cylinders, while complaints of black marketing have also started to surface in the market. This has directly affected household kitchens and caused inconvenience for many residents.
On Wednesday, a large number of consumers gathered at Kabra Gas Agency in the Jugsalai area to inquire about gas bookings and cylinder availability. A crowd was seen outside the agency office. Customers including Asha Pandey and Sant Behra said they had been trying to book gas online for the past three to four days, but their bookings were not going through despite repeated attempts. As a result, they were forced to visit the agency in person.
Consumers say that because bookings are not being processed, they are unable to get gas cylinders on time. Some people also alleged that black marketing of gas cylinders has begun in the market. Domestic LPG cylinders, which normally cost around ₹1000, are reportedly being sold in some places for ₹1800 to ₹2000. This has created significant trouble for common consumers, who are demanding strict action from the administration.
However, the operators of Kabra Gas Agency denied any shortage of LPG. The agency management stated that gas supply is normal and cylinders are being provided to all consumers. According to them, in recent days many people have been trying to book more cylinders than necessary, which has slightly delayed deliveries.
They also explained that there had been a temporary technical glitch in the online booking system, which caused inconvenience for consumers. The issue has now been resolved, and the booking process has returned to normal.
Despite this, concerns about gas availability remain in several parts of the city. Residents say that due to international developments and spreading rumors, some people are trying to stock extra cylinders, making the situation more complicated. Consumers have urged the administration to keep strict watch on black marketing and ensure timely supply of LPG so that households do not face a crisis in their kitchens.
