India News : India’s fourth relief flight carrying 11 tonnes of relief material reached Kathmandu on Sunday to support rescue and relief operations in flood-hit Nepal. The consignment was handed over to the Nepalese government to assist people affected by the disaster.
External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar said on X that the fourth Indian flight had arrived in Kathmandu with essential supplies and technical capabilities required for the ongoing rescue and relief operations in Nepal.
Rescue Equipment and Technical Teams Sent
The consignment includes equipment required for search and rescue operations, along with a tunnel technical team. A team of forensic experts has also been sent to assist with DNA analysis.
The relief material includes blankets, sleeping bags, tarpaulins, plastic sheets and hygiene kits. The supplies are intended to support ongoing relief efforts in the disaster-affected areas.
Nepal Flood Disaster
A devastating flood hit the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa and adjoining areas on the morning of August 26. According to the information provided, around 724 bodies have so far been recovered, while hundreds of people remain missing.
The missing people include foreign nationals and security personnel. The floods have caused extensive destruction across three districts of Nepal.
